WILDFELL Baby Blanket

WILDFELL, my first published knitting pattern released yesterday and I couldn't be more thrilled!

Perfect for fall strolls, naps on the couch, and campfire snuggles, Wildfell transforms simple lace, textured moss, and easy reverse stockinette stitch into an eye-catching baby blanket.
Knit in one piece, Wildfell begins with waterfall lace and works its way down to reverse stockinette stitch.
I loved how squishy and cozy this blanket is and look forward to knitting more!

Winter Knitting

I have done some gift knitting lately- in all sorts of colours and sizes.

This little hat was knit for Katherine's baby boy - newborn size - improvised pattern

My version of the Vite Cowl  for my co-worker Courtney. It is super soft and squishy

Baby Abernathy Cap and Cardigan by Megan Grewal

Made for Sarah's little girl - size 3 months  ( knit small as my gauge was incorrect)- using Knit Picks Palette and Stroll Hand Painted

Baby Blanket and Wash Cloths

I recently knit some baby wash cloths for friends of ours and ended up with LOTS of left over yarn ; well, enough to make a little blanket anyway.

I made the pattern up as I knit - I was too tired to have to mark rows and such. So, coming up with my own pattern was the easiest way to relax and avoid reading a pattern.

It is easily broken down into 8-row repeats.

row 1: k2 , * k2tog, yo * rep until last two sts, knit 2

row 2: and all other even rows - purl

row 3: k2 , * k2tog, yo * rep until last two sts, knit 2

row 5: knit

Row 7 : knit

I also put in a random lace pattern that I found in a knitwear magazine.

Girls Day In // new scarf

My sweet cousin Lily was over last week ( from Japan!) , and we decided that a girls knitting day was in order. We put the kids outside with a water slide while the older ones went to the theater, and then the three of us got together and ... well , this pretty much sums it up:

new yarn and magazines, freshly brewed coffee and my moms delicious homemade cheesecake. Needless to say, it was pretty awesome!

Note: scarf is NOT blocked :)

Deeply Rooted

When storms come, and we all know they do, I want to be firm. I want to be able to weather it, to be strong, to be planted so deeply that I cannot be moved.

In other words, I don't want to end up like this :

Broken. Severed. Withering.Rotting. Useless.

the sweater

I recently posted about knitting a sweater for myself that might not actually fit .. well .. here it is :

I did swatch - and my gauge was tighter than the pattern suggested, so hopefully that will tweak things just a bit.

I plan on seaming part of that giant neck . :)
